Scoring and Awards

Sportsmanship:

Good sportsmanship is expected of all who attend HUSTLE events. We value fairness, respect for fellow competitors, and graciousness in both awards and placements.

Competing with HUSTLE is an opportunity to learn and grow— embracing your results, maintaining a positive attitude, and using each experience to prepare for future competitions.

Scoring:

Three judges will adjudicate each routine based on execution, choreography, and showmanship. A fourth judge will monitor whether the routine is placed in the appropriate skill level. If a routine is determined to be in the incorrect division, it will be moved and adjudicated on its own merit. Routines that are reclassified will not be eligible for specialty, high point, or overall awards.

Awards:

There may be multiple award ceremonies throughout the event, depending on the number of entries.

HUSTLE will rank each routine based on the judges’ scores (e.g., 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).

If only one routine is entered in a division, it will be evaluated using a point system and receive an award based on its score.

Ex: MVP, Gold, Silver, Bronze.

MVP 300 – 294

Gold 293 – 283

Silver 282 – 262

Bronze 261 – 200

Solo/Duet/Trio- All participants will receive an award for attending.

  • All 1st place, MVP and Gold placements will receive an additional award.
  • HUSTLE will have specialty awards and highpoint winners in each skill level.

Team day- Each studio and routine will receive an award/gift and every dancer attending will get a HUSTLE gift.

    • There will be specialty awards and highpoint winners in each skill level.
    • We will have studio team overall awards and one GOAT winner at the end of the event.
    • Each studio will nominate someone from their teams to win the AKT award.

The POWER round will be held at the last Hustle Competition for that year. All 1st and 2nd place overall Solo/Duet/Trio winners will be invited to compete for Hustle’s Best of the Best POWER round.
    * Fees may apply in 2027
